After Winter Comes Spring
“God allows the winter in your life because He knows the spring is following.” Bishop TD Jakes.
Some of us have been going through a winter, and without understanding, have been tempted to give up. It’s a time when you may feel barren; you may be focused on the things that are going wrong and the failures of the past.
“The winter is not a sign that you’ve failed. The sap may have gone down from the tree; the leaves have all changed colours; you’ve not seen any fruit and everything is dried up and withering, but this is preparation time, and everything you lost is fertilising the next awakening that’s about to break forth in your life if you understand that your down-time is your prep time.” TD Jakes
We all need a winter season in our lives, but we need Jesus by our sides as we walk through it. Be in the presence of Jesus (the light), for 30 mins a day, to help alleviate the symptoms of the winter in your life! Let Him be your light!
Winter; it’s a time when the unnecessary things in life drop off, like leaves so that we can prepare for growth. It’s a time when we can focus on the important things. Life is so busy that we often lose our focus. It is a time when we find out how much we have stored up in the good times! The winter in your life is an opportunity to take stock, to focus and to trust. Jeremiah 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. 8For he shall be like a tree, planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river, and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.”
The down-time of winter is a blessing. This is a time when we get things right in our lives. We maintain our relationship with God and allow Him to cause us to grow. We repair the areas that have caused grief. “When God allows you to have down-time, it does not mean that you have been denied, it simply means that you have been delayed, and being delayed is a blessing so that you can be better prepared. “ TD Jakes
Winter is a blessing, because after winter comes spring! Spring; the time of new life, a new beginning, as the sap begins to flow and the old is forgotten.
Psalms 1:3 “He shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity.”
Are you in a winter today? Then look at it as a time of preparation for the season that is to follow. Don’t let your seed die. Look up. Get excited and be ready for your tree to fruit!
